Eating healthy,BODY ECOLOGY Style

Hi everybody!Hope your all doing good.Today I want to discuss eating healthy, but taking it up a notch. It may seem hard at first to eat really healthy but we just take baby steps.Especially with children[and husbands]you have to ease them in it and be a little sneaky.I am working on my exams right now and am learning alot about how important our PH is.Most of us are too acidic and eat far too much protein. We need protein but not in near the large doses that is being promoted.A few things we can do to help digest our protein meals and also help alkalize us when we eat acidic foods such as meat or refined foods are to add sea salt or cayenne to our food.Organic sodium is very alkalizing. Also, having raw apple cider vinegar or lemon juice in warm water with your meals, and eating cultured vegetables or kefir with every meal. All these things help restore good digestion which is the foundation to good health.Another that we need to do more of is to presoak all our grains beans and nuts before eating them, especially the grains and beans because this helps break up the phytic acid in them which is a huge factor in the prevalence of grain and gluten allergies.Freshly ground flour is also much healthier because the chemical components in flour change after three days of being ground.I have ordered me agrinder and will be soaking and grinding my flour and making my own pasta from now on.Sprouting is wonderful too.A book that I have that will teach you everything you need to know about restoring balance to your health through fermented foods and how to do these things is THE BODY ECOLOGY DIET.They also have a free newsletter that is very helpful and I have learned a lot from them.Their principles go right along with the courses that I'M taking.I finally got to taste the cultured vegetables that I made and they are delicious. You can season them and add them to salads, sandwiches, smoothies or just eat them straight. My dog even loved them.If you really want to be healthy then it is so important to get rid of the candida, and all of these diet changes will help to do that. For those who are gluten sensitive or severely grain intolerant then their is a fermented grain supplement that is designed to help cure that along with following these priciples .It is calledB.E. WHOLEGRAIN LIQUID.This supplement is safe for celiacs as well as the gluten in the grains is destroyed through the fermentation.I will send a link to the website to order it I got it for us as we have severe grain sensitivities and will keep you posted on how we are feeling.https://shop.bodyecology.com/prodinfo.asp?number=BE050

Setting goals

Well I just finished my exercises, but how can you just sit when your watching biggest loser?I sure can't,anyway. How about them awesome people. They sure have willpower and strength.I feel so proud of all the contestants for their hardwork, but also for all of those out there who are working hard at becoming healthier. That brings me to my subject,Idon't know about the rest of you but God has been talking to my heart lately about my priorities and Italked a little bit about that yesterday. From now on I am taking time to think and pray about my goals I should set daily and write them down .Each day I commit to with Gods help to make time for those goals. Also I want to set long term goals and take steps toward those goals. Not run ahead of God but along side of him.A few of my goals I will share with you, regular exercise, daily time with God,more time playing with my chidren and less time cleaning and studying my courses daily.I commit to making time for dates with my husband and to keep striving to be a better person.I will pray for any one else who is ready to make time for their priorities and ask that you do the same for me.YEAH Ali won the biggest loser challenge. I just finished watching it and had to butt in.It just goes to show what we can accomplish if we put our mind to it especially if wehave god backing us up.I have experienced first hand how consistency can pay off. When I was overcoming the aenorexia I made a choice and God took it from there. It has been almost 6 years since it almost took my life but I focus on making good choices to get healthier and for a long time it didn't feel like it was getting me any where.I didn't feel good right away and my health didn't improve very fast because I was so run down, but now I am finally starting to see the payoff.I also have more energy and teach my kids about why it is important to eat healthy. In fact my son when offered a hamburger immediately plucked the bun off[I never eat my bun]and was asked whyhe was doing that.He said because white bread turns to glue and then I can't poop.Oh yes I have taught them well. haha.At afamily barbecue they had hotdogs and my mother in law was just ready to take a bite out of hers when Tinkerbell yelled NO grandma don't eat that .It has pig lips in it.Yes my kids will say anything, but at least I know they are getting health conscious. There is a verse in the bible that says not to let anything contaminate body and spirit so I feel we do have a responsibility to take care of ourselves. After all we can serve the Lord so much better when we feel good. So, I am making myself accountable to you to work on my goals and hopefully we can support each other.God bless you all

homemade yogurt and baby food

Hi there, hope you are all enjoying your day.We have been having spring finally.I had posted earlier about yogurt but needed to make a few changes. You can not add anything heated to your yogurt or you will kill some of the good bacteria,so what I HAVE FOUND IS TO ADD YOUR GELATIN OR ARROWROOT RIGHT IN THE BEGINNING WHEN YOU FIRST HEAT YOUR MILK.Once your yogurt is done you need to let it refrigerate before you can add any fruit or sweetener.I just put mine in a food processor and blended the fruit and either agave nectar or honey etc. for a few pulses till smooth and then back in the fridge.All-fruit jam stirred in itworks really nice too. Also if you didn,t want to mess with a thickener you can let your yogurt drip through a sieve and that will thicken it too.If you let it drip for a longer time you have a really nice cream cheese too.The web link I am giving tells you how to make your basic yogurt and also homemade baby food and teething biscuits etc. It is an awesome site especially for mothers of babies who want to make their own nutritious baby food.Just play around with the recipes till you get what you like.so long for now,I just got my new yogurt maker and am going to go try it out.yeahttp://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/makeyogurtforbaby.htm

Staying in balance

Well today was my birhday so I guess I am now 32 which feels like I am getting up there, but there was a time when I wasn't sure I was going to be around this long so I am thankful for everyday.Unfortunately I was not feeling well so we didn't get a whole lot of celebrating done.A couple of years ago when I was very sick and also recovering from aenorexia and panic disorder one of the things the Lord taught me was the importance of staying in balance in every area.Well, I have been ignoring that a bit too much lately and falling back into the workaholic,no time to rest or have fun pattern. It caught up with me this weekend and I had a bit of a meltdown, and ended up with the flu.So we went out for lunch which made me sick and I was to weak to do anything else except cry and come home for a nap.I told my husband I want a do over when I feel better. After some rest and prayer I realized I HAVE BECOME OUT OF BALANCE again and need to slow down a bit and take some time out for the things that are important to me and my family.Tonight I spent some quality time with the kids and we had a picnic on a blanket in the livingroom and watched snowbuddies. They had a great time and I am feeling much more relaxed. My stomach still hurts but I'm sipping on my own blend of herbal tea which the kids and I just love.I will put the ingredients on the bottom.A neat thing about chihuahuas that you may not know[and is also the reason we have one]is that they can absorb allergies andstress from their owner. In fact a naturopath told me that if someone is having an asthma attack that you help them by putting achihuahua on their chest. They can also absorb emotions which is why they have largely the temperament of their owners. Also why their some mean little dogs out there.Well my little guy had rough day today with me feeling the way Iwas because he snuggled up to take anap with me and suddenly jumped down and threw up all over.He actually absorbed it from me and this happens everytime Iget sick in my stomach.I do mlove my little guy.I'm also posting a recipe for a healthy chocolate mousse that someone has requested.First the tea:

this is for a 10 cup pot tea

2tbsps dried lavendar flower

2tbsp chamomile flowers

2tbsp dried echinacea

2 tbsp dried dandelion leaves

1 tbsp peppermint

This makes a strong tea so if you want it weaker you can add more water, but I prefer to use it medicinally. These are for relaxing and immune boosting and tummy soothing as well.

CHOCOLATE MOUSSE

1 BAR TOFU [around 12 ozs or so],1/3 CUP COCOA OR MELTED DARK CHOCOLATE

1/3 CUP AGAVE NECTAR OR HONEY

1/4 CUP ALMONDOR CASHEW BUTTER[CAN BE LEFT OUT]

1 TSP VANILLA

PUT ALL IN A BLENDER OR FOOD PROCESSOR AND PUREE TILL SMOOTH AND SILKY

POUR INTO CONTAINER OR PIE CRUST AND CHILL

IF YOU ADD THE NUT BUTTER IT IS RICHER AND ALSO MAKES A WONDERFUL FROSTING ON CAKE. ENJOY AND REMEMBER ,IF WE DON'T EVER SAY NO TO OTHERS WE MAY BE SAYING NO TO GOD ,OURSELVES AND OUR FAMILIES.JOIN ME IN MAKING AN EFFORT TO RELAX AND STAY BALANCED IN ALL WE DO.GOD BLESS
